Polo turns 50 this year. This blog plans to tell the story of the brand through 50 objects, some Polo, some not, but all relating to the world of Ralph Lauren. And when I say “story of the brand” I mostly mean my own irrational obsession with it.

It’s clothes, sure, but it is more than that: it is aspiration, Americana, Anglophilia, Native American appropriation, street life, Ivy League, rugged individualism, and everything that falls between those cracks.
